In 1976, Thomas Shorney, George Morris and John Sharley set out to make an impression in the veneering world. The aim was simple – to supply high quality real wood veneering. After purchasing their first premises in 1976, the name continued to grow until 15 years later when they relocated to our current factory in Weston-Super-Mare.

Thomas and Johns sons (Rob and Stuart) plied their trade early and took the reigns in 1991, building on the foundations and turning SMS into one of the market leaders for wood veneering.

Rob became sole director in 2023 with his two sons George and Sam determined to carry on the companies rich history.

Along with the name, the core values and commitments have also been passed down, ensuring that every product and service reflect the same level of care and dedication as it did in 1976.
